I had the pleasure of spending the last 4 days alone with one of my favorite little men ….
We went to Boston for a special “mommy-son” trip and we had a blast.
There’s just something about seeing the city through a child’s eyes … to do all the touristy stuff and to act like a kid again yourself.
Of course there was the Freedom Trail and all of it’s historic sites …
(When you’re 7, you quite literally walk ON the Freedom Trail.)
We mastered the T system and even took it out to Fenway Park.
We also came face to face with this guy …
Thrilling!
And had cannolis for breakfast …
We kept hearing about Mike’s Pastry in the North End … and every time we passed it there was a line of people coming out the door and down the block. Finally, on Tuesday morning before we left for the airport, we walked past and it was much quieter. We couldn’t resist.
So, there was no real shopping on this trip … (imagine how hard it is to walk down Newbury Street with all of those wonderful stores & boutiques calling out to you) … but it was ok. This trip was all about my little bud.
I did do a little “home daydreaming” as we walked along Commonwealth Ave. and through Beacon Hill …
Wouldn’t you just love to see what those incredible brownstones look like inside?
Finally, it was time to head home … did you know that you can take a water taxi to Boston’s airport?
It was a great way to end our trip.
I promise more home decor related posts soon … it’s taking me a little while to get back into the real world!
