So last Thursday I had the pleasure of attending the Grand Opening party for the new Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams Oakbrook store. The store is gorgeous and let me just say, the people at MGBW really know how to throw a glamorous party!

 

I’m not sure whether to talk about the food and drinks or the furniture first … but since this is a design blog, I suppose I should go with the furniture …

… like this chic looking sectional for instance (the words chic and sectional don’t always go together!) And the gold discs are a great way to fill a large wall. They come in sets of four so you can use as many as you need and play around with your own arrangement.

Beautiful and sleek, this bed and bench combo feels very modern and inviting!

Lots of amazing textures on display – between, rugs, fabrics, leathers, hides and metallics.

 

 

I fell in love with these acrylic arm chairs!

Lots of pretty little vignettes throughout the store …

They also have a great selection of lamps and unique accessories …

 

So this is where we started to get a little distracted from the furniture …

Yummy signature cocktails (go ahead and steal the recipe!) and the cutest presentation of things to nibble on …

Shrimp and grits, mac’n’cheese, crab lettuce wraps … just to name a few of the delicious offerings. (There may or may not have been some butterscotch pudding and mini peach cobblers as well.)

Thank goodness I had these lovely friends to help me out …

As if that wasn’t enough, we left with goodies bags and boxes of these – 

Of course, donuts would not be a very nutritious breakfast to feed our kids the next day, so … well … you know.
